Verification Policy
Key Disclosures
- Verification is required only to create a shop on intendle: an Art Marketplace shop or a book shop (My Book Store). It is not required to register, post, buy, send a booking request, apply, request a book review, or create a professional page.
- The standard review is free. An applicant may instead pay for a faster review: USD 50 for a decision within 24 hours or USD 30 for a decision within 2 days, counted from the payment. If intendle misses the chosen deadline, the fee is refunded automatically. Paying buys speed only, never approval.
- A person is verified once. One verification covers every shop of that person, for art and for books. It does not expire; it may be suspended or revoked under Section 16.
- The application is a form in the Business Center and a short live video recorded in the application. The form starts with the information already in the applicant's profile; the answers are kept in the application and in the profile. The video replaces an identity document. People at intendle review every application.
- Verification evidence, including the live video, is confidential, access-restricted, access-logged, never published, never shared for commercial purposes, and automatically deleted 30 days after the review is completed.
- Verification confirms completion of the process only. It does not authenticate a work, guarantee a Seller, certify professional quality, or guarantee future conduct.
1. Purpose
intendle verifies prospective Sellers to reduce impersonation, fraud, payment risk, and misrepresentation and to assign the Seller type that controls pricing and payout routing. Verification is a prerequisite for creating a shop.
The Services are operated by intendle ("intendle," "we," "us," or "our"). The operator's registered legal details are available on request via legal@intendle.com.
Verification does not replace Stripe onboarding, professional licensing, artwork authentication, provenance research, credit review, appraisal, background investigation, or legal due diligence.
2. Who Must Be Verified
A user must be verified before creating a shop on intendle, whether an Art Marketplace shop or a book shop (My Book Store). The requirement applies to an individual artist, author, self-publisher, business, publisher, gallery, estate representative, or other person who wants to open a shop.
Each person is verified only once. A verified person does not apply again for a second shop or for selling both art and books.
3. Information Requested
Before applying, the user completes the About page of the intendle profile and publishes at least one post about the user's own work.
The application requests:
- full legal name and public name;
- professional role and a short professional description;
- country and city;
- postal address, telephone number, and email address;
- two social media profiles of the applicant, each active for at least one year;
- the applicant's website or portfolio and other places where the applicant sells, where available;
- a short live video recorded in the application, in which the applicant appears and says the requested statement;
- for an organization: a company document showing the organization and the representative's authority;
- optionally, screenshots of the applicant's profile or sales figures on other platforms; and
- additional information reasonably necessary to clarify the application.
Payout and tax information is not part of the intendle verification. Stripe collects it during Stripe onboarding.
The applicant must provide complete, accurate, current, and unaltered information. Fabricated, manipulated, misleading, or stolen evidence may lead to denial, suspension, termination, payment restrictions, and preservation of evidence.
4. Application Process
The process is:
- The user registers as a normal intendle user.
- The user completes the About page and publishes a post about the user's own work.
- The user opens the verification page in the Business Center, directly or through "Create a shop."
- The user checks the information taken from the profile, fills in the rest, records the live video, chooses the standard review or a paid faster review, and submits the application.
- The user receives confirmation in the Account and by email.
- People at intendle review the application and approve it, request more information, or deny it, with reasons.
- After approval, the verified badge appears on the user's profile and the user can create a shop.
- A shop then requires the applicable shop plan, acceptance of the applicable Seller Agreement, and Stripe onboarding before items are sold.
5. Cost and Processing
The standard review is free. intendle reviews free applications in the order in which they are received. No processing time is promised for the standard review, and a review may take longer if information is incomplete, inconsistent, legally restricted, or requires clarification. A review is not an approval promise.
6. Faster Review
An applicant may pay for a faster review when submitting the application or while the application waits for review:
| Option | Fee | Decision within |
|---|---|---|
| Faster review | USD 50 | 24 hours |
| Faster review | USD 30 | 2 days (48 hours) |
- The deadline starts when Stripe confirms the payment.
- The deadline is met when intendle approves the application, denies it, or asks the applicant for more information.
- If intendle misses the deadline, the full fee is refunded automatically to the original payment method. The applicant does not need to ask.
- The faster review is a paid service, not a donation. It buys an earlier decision only. It does not buy approval, a badge, Seller access, favorable treatment, or a particular Seller type, and the review criteria are the same for every applicant.
- A denied application is not refunded when the decision was made within the deadline.
7. Review Criteria
intendle may assess:
- identity consistency;
- authority to represent the named Seller or organization;
- professional or commercial role relevant to the requested Seller type;
- consistency of public presence, social media profiles, website, live video, and any submitted screenshots;
- signs of impersonation, fraud, manipulation, sanctions, or payment risk;
- completeness and plausibility of the application; and
- compliance with intendle policies.
intendle must not state that an applicant is untrustworthy merely because the applicant lacks substantial sales history. The purpose is role and identity verification, not a wealth, popularity, or artistic-quality test.
8. Seller-Type Assignment
intendle assigns one of the following Seller types where applicable:
| Seller type | General role | Marketplace artwork payment route |
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Individual artist or equivalent creator role | Direct charge on the Seller's Stripe connected account |
| Business | Verified commercial business | Direct charge on the Seller's Stripe connected account |
| Publisher | Verified publishing entity | Direct charge on the Seller's Stripe connected account |
| Self-publisher | Verified person or entity publishing its own titles | Direct charge on the Seller's Stripe connected account |
| Gallery | Verified gallery | Direct charge on the Seller's Stripe connected account |
The assignment may affect eligibility or interface options, but it does not create a different intendle-controlled payout route for Marketplace artwork sales. The applicant must be told the assigned type and may request correction if it is factually wrong.
9. Decision Types
intendle may issue:
- Approved — the applicant may proceed to the applicable Seller onboarding and contract process;
- More information required — the application remains pending and identifies the missing or inconsistent information;
- Denied — the application does not presently satisfy the requirements, with reasons;
- Suspended — an existing verification is temporarily inactive while a material issue is reviewed; or
- Revoked — verification is withdrawn because the basis was false, no longer valid, or incompatible with policy or law.
A verification decision must identify the principal reason and the available review or reapplication path, unless disclosure is lawfully restricted for fraud prevention, security, legal process, or safety.
10. Confidential Verification Evidence
The live video, company documents, and any screenshots of sales figures or profiles on other platforms are treated as the applicant's confidential information. Verification evidence must be handled as follows:
- encrypted storage;
- access only for specifically authorized roles;
- logging of every access;
- no publication;
- no display to other users;
- no disclosure to advertisers, commercial partners, other Sellers, or the public;
- no use to rank, market, or competitively profile the applicant; and
- automatic deletion 30 days after completion of the verification review.
The result record—approved or denied, date, and reviewer—may be retained permanently.
11. Meaning of “Review Completed”
The review is completed on the day intendle approves or rejects the application.
A legal hold or evidence-preservation duty may suspend automatic deletion only to the extent legally necessary and must be documented.
12. Access Controls and Logging
Every access to verification evidence is recorded with the staff identifier, date and time, application, and action. Access logs do not themselves reveal the confidential evidence.
Only the operator of intendle may open verification evidence. No other administrator has access. Every access is logged and the log is kept for one year.
13. Stripe and Financial Verification
Approval by intendle does not guarantee that Stripe will onboard or continue to serve the Seller. Stripe may independently request identity, beneficial ownership, banking, tax, sanctions, business, and transaction information and may restrict payment or payout functions.
intendle verification and Stripe verification are separate. A Seller must satisfy both where applicable.
14. Public Verification Status
intendle displays a blue verified badge next to the verified person's name and may display the approved Seller type. intendle will not publish verification evidence, the live video, sales screenshots, private tax information, payout information, or the internal reviewer notes.
A verification indicator means only that the process described in the then-current Verification Policy was completed. It is not a guarantee of authenticity, solvency, legal compliance, item quality, delivery, or future behavior.
15. Changes After Approval
A verified Seller must promptly update material changes to legal name, address, authority, organization, Seller role, ownership, website, payout information, tax information, or other verified facts. intendle may require renewed review.
Payout information is managed through the authenticated Stripe connected-account interface. Stripe may require fresh authentication, renewed verification or a security delay under its rules; intendle does not impose a fixed three-day payout hold.
16. Suspension or Revocation
intendle may suspend or revoke verification where:
- information was false, fabricated, manipulated, or materially incomplete;
- the Seller no longer has authority to act for the represented party;
- identity or Account control is disputed;
- fraud, infringement, counterfeit activity, sanctions, or serious policy violations are credibly indicated;
- Stripe or law prevents payment functions; or
- the Seller fails to provide information reasonably required to maintain verification.
The decision must be reasoned and provide an appeal route unless lawfully restricted.
17. Appeal and Reapplication
An applicant may challenge a factual or procedural error through the route in the decision notice. A new application may be allowed after the stated waiting period or after missing information is corrected.
Verification appeal deadline: 30 days Reapplication waiting period: seven days
18. Refunds of the Faster Review Fee
The fee for a faster review is refunded automatically if intendle misses the chosen deadline. Refunds go to the original payment method through Stripe. Otherwise the fee is not refunded, including when the application is denied within the deadline. Charges for shop plans are governed by the applicable Seller Agreement and the Payment and Payout Terms.
19. Records and Privacy Rights
The Privacy Policy explains data uses, legal bases, service providers, international transfers, retention, security, and privacy rights. A privacy-deletion request does not require intendle to erase records that must be retained for legal obligations, fraud prevention, dispute defense, or a valid legal hold.
20. Changes to This Policy
A revised Policy will display a new version and Last Updated date. A change affecting an existing Seller's material rights or duties will be handled through the notice and renewed-consent process required by law and the applicable agreements.
