1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy (the “AUP”) applies to all use of intendle, including profiles, posts, comments, messages, artwork listings, book listings and files, reading samples, images, verification submissions, reviews where enabled, checkout, and technical access.
The Services are operated by intendle ("intendle," "we," "us," or "our"). The operator's registered legal details are available on request via legal@intendle.com.
This AUP is incorporated into the Terms of Service and the Seller Agreements. A user is responsible for all activity through the user's Account and for content submitted on behalf of an organization, artist, publisher, gallery, estate, or other person.
2. General Rule
Do not use intendle to violate law, infringe another person's rights, deceive users, endanger a person, manipulate the platform, evade fees, or interfere with secure operation. The examples below are specific and non-exhaustive; comparable conduct may also be prohibited where the reason for the rule applies.
3. Copyright and Other Rights
You must not upload, publish, sell, distribute, or display:
- an artwork, image, photograph, book, cover, illustration, translation, excerpt, logo, or other material without the required rights or permission;
- a reproduction that falsely implies authorization by the artist, author, photographer, publisher, estate, or rights holder;
- a photograph taken by another person unless you have the photographer's permission or another lawful basis;
- a trademark, trade name, signature, certificate, watermark, or brand element in a way that is infringing, counterfeit, or misleading;
- content that violates privacy, publicity, moral, contractual, confidentiality, or database rights; or
- material removed through a rights process when you know that re-uploading it is unauthorized.
Good-faith quotation, criticism, reporting, scholarship, parody, or other lawful use is not prohibited merely because a rights owner objects, but the user bears responsibility for the legal basis.
4. False Authenticity, Attribution, and Edition Information
You must not:
- offer a forged, counterfeit, stolen, or unlawfully exported work;
- falsely identify the artist, author, maker, publisher, year, medium, signature, provenance, condition, or ownership;
- describe a reproduction as an original;
- misstate edition size, proof status, numbering, printing or casting method, authorization, or certificate status;
- conceal restoration, material damage, missing components, or a material alteration;
- create or alter a certificate, invoice, provenance document, sales record, or verification screenshot deceptively; or
- make an unsupported claim that intendle authenticated, appraised, endorsed, or certified an item.
5. Images of People
You must not upload an image of a person unless you have a lawful basis to do so and any required consent. The uploader must also hold or have permission to use the photographer's copyright.
You must not publish:
- an intimate image without the depicted person's consent;
- a secretly recorded or unlawfully obtained image;
- a manipulated image used to humiliate, impersonate, sexualize, or defame a person;
- personal identity documents, home addresses, private telephone numbers, financial data, or other sensitive personal information without authorization; or
- an image that creates a credible safety risk to the depicted person.
6. Sexual Content and Artistic Nudity
Child sexual abuse material, sexual exploitation of a minor, grooming, sextortion, trafficking, or sexualized depiction of a minor is strictly prohibited and may be reported to appropriate authorities.
Explicit sexual activity, sexual services, pornography, non-consensual sexual content, and content primarily created for sexual arousal rather than an approved artistic, educational, documentary, or historical context are prohibited.
Artistic nudity is permitted: nude painting, sculpture, drawing and fine-art photography are part of art and are welcome. Depictions of sexual acts, and material whose evident purpose is arousal rather than artistic expression, are not permitted. Nudity is marked as sensitive content and is revealed only after the viewer chooses to view it.
7. Violence, Threats, and Dangerous Conduct
You must not publish or communicate:
- a credible threat of violence or instruction targeted at a person or group;
- incitement, glorification, or celebration of real-world violence where it creates a material risk;
- content that coordinates violent wrongdoing;
- graphic violence used to harass, shock, or exploit victims without a legitimate artistic, documentary, historical, or educational context; or
- instructions that materially facilitate serious physical harm.
Artistic or documentary treatment of violence may be permitted when it does not violate law, target a victim, or create a credible safety risk and is labeled or restricted as required.
8. Hate and Discrimination
You must not attack, dehumanize, threaten, or advocate exclusion or violence against a person or group based on race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, serious disease, age, immigration status, or another legally protected characteristic.
Discussion, criticism, documentation, satire, art, history, or news concerning hateful ideologies may be allowed when the context does not promote the targeted harm.
9. Harassment and Abuse
You must not:
- repeatedly target a person with unwanted messages, insults, sexual comments, threats, or intimidation;
- coordinate harassment or encourage others to overwhelm a user;
- publish humiliating private information or doxxing material;
- impersonate a person to damage reputation or obtain money or information;
- exploit a dispute process to silence lawful criticism; or
- retaliate against a person for making a good-faith report or appeal.
Direct, rigorous, or negative criticism of art, books, ideas, institutions, or public conduct is not harassment merely because it is unwelcome. The line is crossed when conduct targets a person through threats, repeated abuse, discriminatory attack, exposure of private information, or another prohibited method.
10. Self-Harm and Exploitation of Vulnerability
You must not encourage, instruct, celebrate, or pressure a person to engage in suicide, self-injury, eating-disorder behavior, or another serious form of self-harm. Good-faith artistic, documentary, educational, or support-oriented discussion may be allowed when it does not provide facilitation or target a vulnerable person.
11. Fraud, Deception, and Impersonation
You must not:
- impersonate another person, artist, author, publisher, gallery, business, institution, or intendle representative;
- provide false identity, address, professional-role, sales-history, follower, tax, banking, or verification information;
- submit fabricated screenshots or alter evidence requested for verification;
- operate a fraudulent listing, refund, non-delivery, authenticity, copyright, or chargeback scheme;
- obtain payment for an item you do not intend or have the ability to deliver;
- manipulate reviews, testimonials, ratings, followers, reactions, or engagement through purchase, bots, coordinated exchange, or undisclosed compensation; or
- use deceptive pricing, undisclosed mandatory charges, false scarcity, or a false deadline.
12. Marketplace and Books Conduct
You must not:
- sell an item you do not own or lack authority to sell;
- list AI-generated work of any kind for sale, or present AI-generated work as handmade;
- list a book without all necessary rights to the text, cover, illustrations, sample, and translation;
- misstate inventory, condition, format, compatibility, shipping, delivery, insurance, tax, or return information;
- send a different item from the item ordered;
- use a tracking number that does not relate to the order;
- pressure a Buyer to waive mandatory rights;
- conceal a material conflict of interest, sponsorship, or paid recommendation where disclosure is required; or
- use intendle to launder proceeds, evade sanctions, or conceal the beneficial party to a transaction.
13. Platform-Fee and Process Evasion
You must not use listings, profiles, messages, images, contact fields, or coded instructions to evade an intendle membership charge, verification requirement, transaction record, provider payment process, or other required platform process.
This rule does not prohibit ordinary professional contact or an independent relationship that is not structured to avoid a charge or obligation arising from use of intendle. Enforcement must consider context and must not convert intendle into a compulsory exclusive sales channel.
14. Prohibited or Restricted Items
You must not list, solicit, or transact in:
- protected animal or plant species or parts where trade is prohibited or restricted;
- ivory or ivory-containing objects unless the proposed transaction is expressly lawful and fully documented;
- unlawfully exported or imported cultural property, looted art, archaeological material, sacred objects, or national treasures;
- human remains or human body parts;
- weapons, ammunition, explosives, or items primarily intended as weapons;
- narcotics, controlled substances, or unlawful drug products;
- stolen property;
- counterfeit currency, government documents, or fraudulent certificates;
- products recalled or prohibited by a competent authority; or
- any item whose possession, sale, shipment, export, import, or payment processing is unlawful or prohibited by Stripe or a carrier.
15. Spam and Unwanted Promotion
You must not send bulk unsolicited messages, repetitive promotional comments, deceptive invitations, chain messages, phishing, malware links, or irrelevant mass tagging. Self-promotion is permitted when relevant, truthful, and not abusive or automated.
16. Technical Abuse
You must not:
- access or attempt to access another user's Account, session, message, file, payout information, or private area without authorization;
- probe, scan, exploit, bypass, or test security controls without prior written authorization;
- introduce malware, destructive code, credential-harvesting, or deceptive redirects;
- scrape, crawl, harvest, or extract data through automation except as expressly permitted in writing or by a published machine-readable rule;
- overload or disrupt the Services;
- manipulate Discover, search, ranking, counters, or recommendations through bots, coordinated inauthentic activity, hidden text, false metadata, or technical interference;
- create or control undisclosed duplicate Accounts;
- reverse engineer protected components except where law expressly permits and the right cannot be waived; or
- interfere with logging, moderation, verification, consent, payment, or audit records.
17. Illegal Activity, Sanctions, and Evasion
You must not use intendle for conduct prohibited by applicable criminal, civil, consumer, trade, sanctions, export-control, anti-money-laundering, tax, cultural-property, wildlife, or financial law. You must not misstate a party, location, ownership, value, or destination to evade a restriction.
18. Reporting
Use the available report function for content, users, or listings. Copyright notices must follow the Copyright and DMCA Policy. Urgent threats may also require contact with local emergency or law-enforcement services; intendle is not an emergency service.
Reports must be made in good faith. A reporter should identify the exact content, rule, and relevant evidence.
19. Enforcement Measures
Depending on severity, history, intent, risk, and legal duty, intendle may apply one or more of the following:
- educational notice or warning;
- request for correction or additional information;
- removal, disabling, or visibility restriction of content;
- pause of publishing, messaging, selling, buying, verification, or payout functions;
- temporary Account suspension;
- permanent termination; and
- preservation or disclosure of information where lawfully required.
Serious fraud, exploitation, credible threats, security attacks, prohibited trade, deliberate infringement, or an urgent legal risk may justify immediate action without using every lower step first.
20. Reasons, Appeals, and Records
intendle will record the decision and normally provide the affected user with the action, policy basis, material facts, and appeal route. Notice may be limited where disclosure would create a safety risk, enable fraud, compromise security, violate law, or prejudice an investigation.
You have 30 days to appeal. intendle replies within 14 days.
Moderation records and reasons are retained according to the Privacy Policy and internal retention schedule.
21. Changes to This Policy
A revised AUP will display a new version and Last Updated date. Where renewed acceptance or advance notice is legally required, intendle will provide it before the revised rule becomes binding.
